What is Bullying?

According to about.com bullying is intentional aggressive behavior that can take the form of physical or verbal harassment. It involves a disproportion of power, for example when a group of kids all gang up on one other individual.

Some bullying behaviors include: pushing, shoving, teasing, insulting someone, hitting, excluding someone or gossiping about another.

Bullying victims tend to feel upset, left-out, afraid, ashamed, and embarrassed. Attending school on a daily basis is a tough task for victims. Bullying can be seen with children at any age, including younger elementary level kids as well as kindergartners. Unless there is intervention, the bullying antics will not stop.
